I am not sure if it is refurbished or not, it doesn't say in the item description. Also there is not a charger with it, yes you can plug it to your usb port, however the tween I am giving this to doesn't have daily access to a computer. Otherwise, the menu is very easy to use and installs very easily. It is a very nice, inexpensive mp3 player, perfect for a preteen not ready for a more expensive player.

It is the best single purpose MP3 player I have used. Our family owns one iTouch and five Sansa players which have worked flawlessly for years. I did have one that bricked while updating the firmware, but that was my fault. Hence the reason for my last purchase.
I like the size of the Sansa View because of the slightly bigger screen than that the Sansa Fuze. The Sansa View is slightly heaver that some of the other players I have used but I like the way it feels, solid. The Sansa Views screen is bright, the controls work well, the menus are organized, and the sound is rich.
I do have two minor complaints, the first is that the head phone jack is on the bottom of the player unlike the Sansa e260s and e280s which are located at the top. The second complaint is that SanDisk uses a proprietary and not a standard USB data cable. Because we have multiple players we now have enough cables so that we are not always swapping them between computers.
I would have given the SanDisk Sansa View five stars if not for the two items mentioned above. Also I have had a couple of older computers that had difficulty recognizing the Sansa players. I was unable to correct the problem with SanDisk support but I suspect that the problem was with the Windows XP operating system on those two Dell computers. They have connected with out problems all the other XP, Visa, and Windows 7 computers our family uses at home and at work.
